Innovative nature-friendly approaches
The idea to build a winery with its own vineyards in Slovakia arose while enjoying a glass of good wine with friends. A viticultural family from Moravia and a native of Nitra began looking for a suitable location for a unique joint project.
We were charmed by the town of Vráble and its surroundings, whose vineyards and excellent wine have been renown since ancient times. In the 1930s, the Predium area hosted a vineyard owned by the family of Mr Shick, an important local businessman. We fell in love with this picturesque southern slope and decided to build upon the prominent viticultural tradition.
It is our hope that lovers of Slovak wine will visit us and taste our wine together with delicious food, relax on the peaceful premises of our winery and enjoy a walk in the vineyard.
We plan to organize tastings as well as other social and cultural events directly in our winery. Our effort is to restore the fame of wines from Vráble and viticulture in this historically important area.

Winery and vineyards
Vineyards – Eco-Friendly Production
Using environmentally friendly farming practices, we manage a total of 35 hectares of our own vineyards which were populated with the highest quality grafts. The grafts were prepared at a renowned nursery according to our requirements. We respect the nature around us, therefore a friendly approach to the environment comes first. We also take part in ecological production according to the Rural Development Program of the Slovak Republic.
Predium vineyard in Vráble
In 2019, we established a large 10-hectare vineyard on the Predium Mountain. This south-facing vineyard is planted with Traminer Rot, Veltliner Grün, Welschriesling, Riesling Weiss, Pinot Blanc, Pálava, Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blaufränkisch and Devín.
Kováčová vineyard near village Tehla
In 2016, we started to renovate the vineyard near the village of Tehla. The original vineyard from the 1970s was sentenced for closure and we saved it at the last minute. In the south-facing vineyard, we grow Pinot Gris, Pálava, Traminer, Sauvignon, Irsai Olivér, Devín, Moravian Muscat, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blaufränkisch, Alibernet and Pinot Noir.
Cooperation with local winegrowers.
We have established close cooperation with winegrowers from the Vráble viticultural district, with whom we help each other.
In 2015, we begun with preparations and gradual development of the winery. The construction utilised innovative procedures and the structure was designed and overseen by Radovan Rusnák who is also a winemaker and knew exactly how to realise our vision.
The modern winery, in which modern elements are carefully combined with traditional ones, is surrounded by vineyards. The exposed raw concrete monoliths used throughout the building are complemented by vaults made of old bricks.
Ecology and us
Our vision of sustainable development in viticulture materialises in all stages of wine production.
We do not use any herbicides to control weeds in the vineyards, we dig mechanically. The vineyards are sown with herbs and flowering plants which contribute to the diversity of the landscape and the insects, including bees from local beekeepers, as well as the retention of water in the landscape. The winery also contains insect hotels and houses for solitary bees.
In the production process, we place emphasis on innovative approaches that are friendly to nature and the environment.
The winery is designed for gravity flow. We do not use any pumps that would break the mash at the very beginning. Since our vineyards are in close proximity to the winery, the transport time is minimal, the raw material enters processing fresh and retains all the characteristic properties necessary for the production of quality wine (aroma, freshness, variety). We try to eliminate sulphur in the production process. The temperature of all stainless steel tanks is precisely controlled.
The cellars for wine maturation are located at a depth of seven meters, which ensures a stable year-round temperature between 12 and 15 degrees, with minimal energy costs for cooling.
The winery building has a green roof populated with various plants, therefore it does not overheat and keeps the temperature in the building stable. The roof retains rainwater, which we collect in the pond and then use for irrigation. We have skylights in the whole building to maximise the use of daylight and thus minimise energy consumption for lighting. We use heat pumps for cooling and heating.
